As a frequent visitor and student at West Dean College, West Sussex, I chose to recreate a favourite view seen from the main entrance of the house. It is also a section of the South Downs I often run. The copper section reflects the contours of the valley, whilst the steel ‘core’ is the soil that lies beneath my pounding feet.
